Master's Degree Course

Start in winter semester 2026/2027

The International Joint Master’s programme of excellence, Nordic Green – Design for Sustainable Transition (hereinafter referred to as ‘Nordic Green’), aims to attract candidates who demonstrate exceptional merit and have a proven track record of academic and professional achievements. In addition to outstanding academic credentials, Nordic Green seeks individuals with at least two years of successful professional or practical experience in their respective fields, following the completion of their Bachelor’s degree.

Nordic Green is looking for candidates who possess a holistic mindset and the ability to think systemically, seeing issues within a broader context. Cre- ativity, adaptability, and the ability to synthesise innovative solutions are key qualities we value in applicants. Furthermore, Nordic Green is committed to admitting individuals who have a genuine concern for the environment, as demonstrated by their previous work, and who are driven by a desire to create positive, impactful change in society.

The ideal candidates are skilled in both micro and macro-level problem-solving, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex challenges across different scales. They should bring experience in collaborative, team-oriented work en- vironments, and embrace creative project work, valuing constructive feedback and continuous improvement. A strong foundation in co-design and co-cre- ation processes is essential, as these approaches are central to the way inno- vation is encouraged in the programme.

Nordic Green also wishes to attract individuals who are eager to develop their leadership capabilities. They should possess organisational skills that enable them to facilitate and coordinate initiatives effectively, contributing to a dynamic and productive academic environment. Candidates of interest demonstrate a deep societal awareness, understand the nuances of commu- nity, culture, and context, and are sensitive to the diverse needs and perspec- tives of others.

By fostering these qualities, Nordic Green aims to build a diverse and for- ward-thinking cohort of students who will contribute to and benefit from an intellectually rigorous and collaborative learning environment. Nordic Green looks forward to receiving applications from those who aspire to make a meaningful impact in the world, and who are committed to shaping the future through sustainable, innovative solutions.

This programme follows the standards and guidelines of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) to ensure transparency, quality, and equal access for all applicants.

Nordic Green is offered collaboratively by

  • Hochschule Wismar: University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business and Design (Germany)
