"haleo" e-learning project

E-learning at vocational schools in MV

The aim of the nationwide pilot project is to establish e-learning at vocational schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Successfully tested at three vocational schools since 2016, the project's scope is currently being extended to a further nine schools in the second phase.

"Action-oriented learning online", in short: haleo, is a special project in many respects. Here, concepts are being developed to transfer the didactics prevailing in schools into the digital domain. Partners from all areas of vocational education are working together: the Ministry of Education, the school authorities, the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, the Chamber of Crafts, some exemplary companies and, of course, the vocational schools.

The E-Learning Centre of Wismar University is significantly involved in the development of the project with its many years of experience in the use of e-learning offers in teaching. Here, the necessary media didactic and technical tools are taught to the vocational school teachers in workshops in order to create digital learning content with confidence. This learning content is made available to learners online on a learning platform. The technical basis of this nationwide learning platform is also secured by the e-learning centre.
