Alongside your studies, we offer a wide range of opportunities to explore entrepreneurship and bring your own ideas to life.

From our seminar series, where you can learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, and idea competitions such as Inspired and IdeaCamp, where your ideas can grow, to hands-on prototyping in our StartUpYard and interdisciplinary teamwork to turn your ideas into market-ready products and services.

If you decide to start your own business, you may be eligible for professional guidance and financial support for up to five years after graduation.

Please note that some funding programmes can only be used consecutively, not simultaneously. Feel free to contact us for advice on the available options. Of course, we treat ideas that require special protection with the utmost confidentiality.

“UDUH” Seminar Series

The perfect starting point – whether you already have an idea in mind or simply want to discover what it takes to become an entrepreneur or a successful leader.

"inspired" Ideas Competition

At “inspired”, creative minds from universities across Mecklenburg-Vorpommern compete to impress a distinguished jury. Before the competition, participants receive extensive coaching to help them present their ideas in the best possible way.

StartUpYard

An interdisciplinary space for hands-on experimentation on the Wismar campus. Here, students from all disciplines can explore new possibilities, learn and grow together, and bring their own ideas to life. Each semester, a changing programme of workshops, competitions and events offers fresh opportunities to get involved.

R&D Teams

Our student research and development teams help turn promising ideas into viable innovations by putting them to the test. Students apply their expertise in practical, interdisciplinary projects.

Startup Scholarship

This scholarship supports young entrepreneurs from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in establishing their startups for long-term success and further developing their business models.

EXIST Startup Grant

If you have a well-developed business idea but haven't started your company yet, you can apply for an EXIST Startup Grant. This programme offers substantial financial support to help you turn your business idea into reality.

InnovationPort

Located at Wismar's Old Harbour, the incubator and accelerator offers promising startups from Wismar a home base for six months, along with comprehensive support as they enter the market.
