Matlab Floating licenses are available for students and staff of the Faculty of Engineering. Floating license means that these licenses can be managed and used in parallel via a license server. When Matlab is started, one license is reserved. This is released again after exiting the software.

The latest version of Matlab is pre-installed on FIW's virtual computers. By using a virtual desktop you have immediate access and do not have to worry about installing and licensing the program.

The use for research projects is not allowed with our license. This applies in particular to employees of the affiliated institutes e.g. IPT. Independent Matlab licenses must be obtained for research projects.
