(Wismar/ Schwerin) Since 1st June 2025, Tim Steingens has received the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Scholarship (CDF Scholarship) from the Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for one year. The graduate from the Communication Design and Media degree programme completed his degree at the Faculty of Design at Wismar University of Applied Sciences in 2024. He would like to use his CDF scholarship to explore the influence of the landscape on us humans through photography and printmaking. He combines classic printing techniques with analogue photography.

"I want to find out how we as humans perceive the landscape and what insights we can draw from it for ourselves personally. The landscapes are to be photographed and processed. The photographs should stand on their own, but I also want to use them to develop printmaking landscapes from them," says Steingens, describing his project. He will focus primarily on the screen printing process. His project ties in with his final thesis.

He will be supervised by Prof. Gunda Förster, Professor of Art in the Context of Architecture and Design, and Prof. Andrea Wippermann, Professor of Jewellery Design and Design Fundamentals.

Tim Steingens lives and works in Wismar. Born in Anklam, the graduate has taken part in various exhibitions since graduating.
