At the 36th German Skin Cancer Congress, which took place this year from 9 to 12 September in Leipzig, M.Sc. Ivo Opitz from the Institute of Applied Medical Technology at Wismar University of Applied Sciences presented the latest findings from the sub-project ‘Investigation of skin cancer using non-invasive hyperspectral imaging in the Target-H research consortium’, led by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Christoph Hornberger.
In addition to sharing knowledge with the specialist community via e-posters, the PhD student was able to gain insights into the latest research findings in dermato-oncology. These will be incorporated into the project, which is contributing to the future non-invasive diagnosis of skin cancer.
The consortium partners receive funding for their research activities through the 2021–2027 ERDF programme of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union (EXF-25-1044).
The German Skin Cancer Congress, organised by the Working Group on Dermatological Oncology (ADO), covers a wide range of topics from basic research through prevention and diagnostic approaches to treatment options. Every year, it offers researchers and healthcare professionals a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences.
