They were honoured by the President of the Student Parliament (StuPa), Adrian Bartel, and the Chair of the General Student Committee (AStA), Lukas Burmester, on 17 September 2025 during the 2025 matriculation ceremony. All five have shown commitment far beyond the norm during their studies, in the student councils, in the AStA, StuPa or in the organisation and implementation of major events on campus, as well as being reliable contacts for students and first-year students.
Leon Gehrmann (Marine Electrical Engineering) has worked tirelessly since 2022 to connect the Wismar and Warnemünde campuses. His commitment to the semester ticket in Rostock was particularly outstanding, where he took over communication with the RSAG and spent many nights correcting data. His initiative led to the creation of the Maritime Department in the AStA for the first time, which better represents the concerns of both locations.
Mirjam Löding (civil engineering) took over the AStA's finance department under difficult conditions without any training and, with perseverance, brought order to internal processes. She introduced the digitisation of financial orders and developed a helpful information sheet for applications – both of which continue to make work easier today. Through her reliability and initiative, she made lasting improvements to the structures within the AStA.
Aljoscha Schmidt (Architecture) was a mainstay of the IDA Council for many years and was known far beyond the Faculty of Design. With his reliable commitment to events, campus activities and as a contact person for students, he shaped campus life. He was particularly fond of the Open Air Living Room, which he always helped to organise – a passion that made him almost a permanent fixture of the faculty.
Matti Elias Vollstädt (Marine Engineering) became involved in the Sumpf student club at an early age and shaped student life there as its chairman. With projects such as the construction of a beer garden, he created lasting places for people to meet. He also introduced first-year students to campus life as a cutter skipper and represented the interests of students on the student council – his work has had a lasting impact on the campus.
Marc Joseph Arpon (Operation and Management of Maritime Systems) impressed with his ability to bring people together. He organised language and cultural exchanges as well as student meetings that strengthened community spirit. In addition, he provided academic support to fellow students, for example in complex subjects such as ship stability. With his helpfulness and openness, he contributed significantly to a lively and supportive campus environment.
