The official project launch took place on Monday, 16 March 2026 at the University of Greifswald. Attending from our University of Applied Sciences (UAS) were the Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr Marianne Schmolke, and the Student Vice-Rector, Emelie Gareis, as well as staff from the Didactics, E-Learning and Quality Management Unit (DEQ), Jakob Diel (spokesperson for the Competence Network for Higher Education and Media Didactics M-V), Dr Christopher Könitz (QLeVer site manager) and Franziska Täger (project coordinator).
Under the leadership of the University of Greifswald, a total of six state universities and UAS in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are working together to systematically improve the quality of university teaching and establish state-wide standards in university teaching qualifications. The project is being funded with a total of 5.4 million euros by the Foundation for Innovation in University Teaching until 2031.
Within the consortium, Wismar University of Applied Sciences develops practice-oriented and innovative training programmes for lecturers and students. The focus is on so-called Didactics Masterclasses and innovation labs, where new approaches to teaching and learning are tested. These range from the development of digital teaching formats and audio and video production to applications in virtual and augmented reality. The formats are designed as advanced modules and can be incorporated into the state-wide university teaching certificate.
In addition, Wismar UAS is involved as co-lead in the work package ‘Community Meetings and Peer Formats’. The aim is to strengthen cross-campus exchange and promote a sustainable teaching and learning culture. This also includes the “QLeVer Campus”, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival of University Teaching, which will take place for the first time at the University of Greifswald on 3 December 2026.
The project coordinator at our institution is Franziska Täger. Further information on the QLeVer joint project and the participating partners is available on the University of Greifswald’s central project website.
