On Saturday, 10 June 2023, the Wismar Business School and WINGS GmbH Wismar invited their graduates to a ceremonial farewell in St. Georgenkirche.

After exhausting years of learning and exams, as well as the additional hardships during the corona period, the students visibly proudly received their graduation certificates. In front of a well-filled audience, numerous well-wishers gathered on the stage to honour this achievement.

After a welcome by Prof. Dr. Cleve, who moderated the event, the Rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Wiegand-Hoffmeister, expressed his appreciation to all graduates. In reference to the church patron St. George, they all fought and defeated their personal dragons and learned a lot about themselves in the process. This was followed by greetings and congratulations from the head of the office and 2nd deputy of the mayor of the Hanseatic city of Wismar, Ms Heike Bansemer, as well as from the head of the department and 2nd deputy of the district administrator, Mr Ingo Funk.

Visibly moved, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Neumann, then encouraged the graduates for their future path in life and thanked them for their shared experiences. He also thanked all the staff of the university for their work in the face of the Corona crisis. Attendance modules and exams had to be hybridised as quickly as possible. Together, they had mastered the challenges well.

At the end, the graduates, arranged by degree programme, stood on the stage themselves to great applause to receive the reward of their hard work, their graduation certificates, from the hands of the dean.

The best students in each degree programme were honoured again separately at graduation. Their will to excel earned them final grades between 1.0 and 1.2.

We wish our current alumni all the best, health and much success for the future.
