Around 35 former and current members came together to look back on a quarter of a century of successful research work, but also to look ahead to the future.
The event kicked off on Thursday afternoon, 18 September 2025, with participants visiting the laboratories in Building 17 on campus, where lively discussions focused on current developments and shared memories. In the evening, the group went to the “Block 17” student club for a barbecue, where the relaxed atmosphere provided plenty of opportunity for personal conversations and exchanges. Since the doctoral students of the past 25 years were active at our University of Applied Sciences (UAS) at different times, the evening offered an ideal opportunity to make new contacts and get to know previously unknown faces
On Friday morning, 19 September 2025, four specialist presentations were on the agenda. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Pawletta reviewed the history of the research group before current doctoral students presented their ongoing projects and provided exciting insights into their research work:
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Pawletta
25 years of CEA - David Jammer, M. Eng.
From Classic-DEVS 1976 to NSA-DEVS 2025 - Niklas Huhs, M. Eng.
Event cameras and non-invasive monitoring - Ivo Opitz, M. Sc.
Adaptation of a hyperspectral camera for the examination of suspicious skin areas – doctoral project in the Target-H research network
The research group would like to thank everyone involved for the successful meeting and looks forward to further joint projects and seeing everyone again soon!
