In August 2022, Sally Frey defended his diploma thesis in the Communication Design and Media degree programme on the topic of "The Promise" with professors Olaf Fippinger and Henning Schellhorn. Subsequently, on 1st September 2022, he began his one-year Caspar David Friedrich Fellowship (CDF Fellowship). During his scholarship, Sally Frey will be advised by Prof. Gunda Förster and Prof. Dr. Achim Trebeß (emeritus).

The graduate of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at our university is using the scholarship of 1,000 euros per month to work on the theme of "memory" using photographs, poetry and interviews. The form of the final presentation and the result is still open at the moment. "A final exhibition or even a publication would be conceivable," says the scholarship holder in response to questions.

The CDF scholarship is offered per semester for particularly qualified young artists by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre, the Caspar David Friedrich Institute of the University of Greifswald and the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, selected by an expert commission and finally awarded to the scholarship holders.

Applications for funding from 1 June 2023 can be submitted until 28 February 2023 (cut-off deadline).
