In the GeoTwinFrame project, the Computational Engineering and Automation research group at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and PLANET IC GmbH are jointly developing a framework for generating and maintaining dynamic digital twins.
Using AI-based methods and simulation-based techniques, digital representations of industrial geothermal plants are to be automatically created based on the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) and other Industry 4.0 specifications. Heterogeneous data sources are integrated to enable efficient and scalable modeling as well as a broad range of applications for the digital representations.
A key aspect of the innovation lies in the introduction of meta-layers built upon the AAS. These are intended to improve the flexible use and adaptability of a digital twin for various application scenarios. In particular, the framework aims to reduce the effort required to create and maintain digital twins for industrial geothermal plants and similar energy systems.
GeoTwinFrame is a project within the ZIM network InGeo.net – Intelligent Services for Geothermal Plants.
