From 6 to 9 October 2025, Hochschule Wismar – represented by Prof. Dr Ali Arnaout and Dr Anna Fomenko – participated as the coordinating institution in the 2nd Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the Erasmus+ project “EUComplianceM4UA” in Porto, Portugal. The event was hosted by Universidade Portucalense Infante D. Henrique (UPT).

The conference focused on evaluating the outcomes of the first year of the project, finalising teaching and training materials in the field of compliance management, and setting strategic directions for the second project year. In addition, the groundwork was laid for developing a sustainability strategy for the project.

Highlights of the event included:

  • The signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ukraine Compliance Association
  • Expert presentations and interim reports by the project partners
  • Industry-focused study visits to CALVELEX and the Technology Centre for Footwear, which addressed sector-specific risk management approaches
  • Keynote lectures from renowned external experts in the field of compliance, including Dr Margarida França (ULSRA – Local Health Unit of the Aveiro Region) and Prof. Dr Carlos Brito (President of the Order of Economists – North Region)

In addition to the formal agenda, the meeting fostered professional exchange and a shared vision: that a value-based compliance culture is a key contributor to quality development in higher education.
