The aim of the project, which is supported by the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is to develop a safe and environmentally friendly process for storing and transporting hydrogen using formate salts.

The Minister of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour Dr Wolfgang Blank handed over the funding decision today, Friday, at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis in Rostock. Wismar University of Applied Sciences is contributing its expertise in the field of process and environmental technology. The overall project involves four partners from science and industry with a total budget of around 4.4 million euros over four years.
