On 5 February 2026, the Interreg project AIKnowIT presented its findings on AI use in SMEs from Poland, Lithuania, Sweden and Germany in Klaipėda. Elizaveta Diatlova and Egor Tsirelson participated on behalf of Wismar University of Applied Sciences.

The surveys show that SMEs primarily need practical guidance, competence building and clarity on IT security and governance issues.

The AIKnowIT platform was presented with use cases, guidelines and information on generative AI. A scientific publication is planned.

Are you a company that has already used (or is currently using) information or guidance from the AIKnowIT platform? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you – your experiences will help us to document success factors and obstacles in a practical manner and derive transferable recommendations for action for other SMEs.
