The exhibition explores political surveillance and persecution at the University of Rostock from 1945 to 1989/90.
It highlights how the Soviet occupying power and the SED subjugated the University of Rostock to their dictatorship between 1945 and 1989/90, the methods they employed, the resistance that arose, the consequences this had for staff and students, and how it affected research, teaching and leisure activities.
Detailed information is available on the University of Rostock’s exhibition page. There, you can also view the 23 digitised display panels from the exhibition, supplemented by a wide range of multimedia content.
