Gagged Mind

The exhibition explores political surveillance and persecution at the University of Rostock from 1945 to 1989/90.
It highlights how the Soviet occupying power and the SED subjugated the University of Rostock to their dictatorship between 1945 and 1989/90, the methods they employed, the resistance that arose, the consequences this had for staff and students, and how it affected research, teaching and leisure activities.
