Hygiene Plan Coronavirus
The Hygiene Plan defines important principles pursuant to § 36 in connection with § 33 Infektionschutzgesetz - IfSG (Protection Against Infection Act). By ensuring a hygienic environment, Hochschule Wismar: University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business and Design (hereinafter UAS Wismar) helps to maintain the health of the members of the university community. Furthermore, all members of the university community at UAS Wismar are obliged to carefully observe the hygiene information issued by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
In general, summer semester 2020’s teaching will take place without face-to-face teaching. Instead, online teaching and correspondence course formats shall be used.
Colloquiums, examinations during the course of the semester or written examinations (e.g. seminar presentations; NO teaching courses) can be held at the various sites belonging to UAS Wismar from 20/04/2020 onwards if they observe the required distance between participants and the hygiene regulations. Only laboratories and workshops can be used for teaching and examination purposes from 27/04/2020 onwards. This should be restricted as much as possible. The aim is still to keep the number of persons on campus and the duration of their stay on the premises to a minimum. The members of teaching staff are called to inform the participants about keeping at a safe distance from one another and observing the hygiene regulations immediately prior to and after the end of the course.
The University Library will recommence limited on-site services for members of the university community on 27/04/2020.
The Studienkolleg (preparatory courses) will be treated similarly to the state’s sixth-form classes.
The Fachschule Seefahrt (vocational college for maritime professions) is part of the Berufliche Schule Technik (vocational college for technical professions), which is run by the Hanseatic City of Rostock and is subject to the Coronavirus Hygiene Plan for Schools in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern of 16 April 2020.
The IT Service and Media Centre ITSMZ remains closed for all teaching courses and examinations.
Student work rooms remain closed. Student studios can be accessed by individual students if they need to collect necessary study materials and a time has been arranged in advance over the phone or via email with the faculty administration.
The Hygiene Plan applies to all of UAS Wismar’s campuses and shall be updated continually. In order to keep up to date with possible changes, please visit UAS Wismar’s website hs-wismar.de/corona [de] and the site on the internal web portal intern.hs-wismar.de/corona [de] every day.
