Videoconferencing (Lifesize Video)

This format is suitable for virtual conversations with up to 20 parties (e.g. learning groups). The screen content can be transmitted during the videoconference. Live streaming is possible and any terminal (SIP, H.323) can be used. Offline, the application also offers the user the option of easily recording video tutorials. These can then be integrated into learning platforms or viewed onvideo.hs-wismar.de.

The use of Lifesize Video is open to all students and employees as well as external cooperation partners and only requires theinstallation of the Lifesize Video client.

Installation and Setup
  • Download the Lifesize Video - Client and execute the file
  • Start after the installation Lifesize Video
  • Select "Registered user" and log in with your central user ID
  • Register as server vc.hs-wismar.de
  • Check your camera and microphone settings (wizard starts automatically)

How to use

You can control the service using two menus. One is vertically on the left edge of the screen, one horizontally on the bottom (this is only displayed during a call). Both menus disappear in a conference and only appear when you move the mouse over the respective area. Check the directory to see which contacts from your list are online. You can call these people immediately if required.

Recording of conversations and video tutorials

We offer the possibility to record conversations or tutorials. The recordings are then stored on thevideo server of the university and can be linked or embedded in various applications. In order to use this service, a recording key must be applied for. Please contact the contact persons listed above.
