DegreeProgramme Business Informatics
BusinessInformatics is an application-based discipline, forming the link between(applied) informatics and economics. In order to address this need, studentsare provided with a sound knowledge base in (business) informatics that can beapplied immediately, as well as an advanced understanding of economic interrelationships.
The course comprises 3 basic curriculum semesters and 5 main curriculumsemesters.
Final qualification: Graduate business informationtechnologist (FH)

General Admission Requirements: Academic standard required to enter a higher education institution or Evidence of completion of a course of education recognised as equivalent by thestate of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania or Passing of an access examination following completion of vocational trainingand at least three years’ practical experience (for applicants not educated touniversity entrance standard) and/or Evidence of participation in an obligatory practical period relevant to thedegree programme of at least 12 weeks’ duration, of which at least 4 weeks mustbe completed before embarking on the programme (the rest to be completed beforethe preliminary examination) or Vocational training or activity in the commercial sector or the area of dataadministration and information technology or Practical education relevant to the course of study at a specialist secondaryinstitution or College of Further Education
Basic curriculum: The basic curriculum concentrates on core skills in both businessadministration and (business) informatics subjects. The teaching is highly application-based. Even at basic curriculum level,students become familiar with the latest hardware and software and gain anintroduction to providing solutions for simple business administration problemsby means of information and communication technologies.

Specialisation: In accordance with their own interests, students opt for specialistareas in information technology applications from a catalogue of possiblespecialisations, and choose elective course units from the current range ofsubjects.

Areas of application: Graduates may apply themselves to the development of new products andservices in the software sector as well as the application of moderninformation and communication technologies in companies and managementdepartments. Typical areas of work include:
