Master of Mechanical Engineering

ATTENTION: DEGREE PROGRAMME CLOSED

The Master of Engineering consists of a component of a system of graduated scientific degrees, of the Bachelor degree (first academic degree) and the master degree (second academic degree), which are presently established in accordance with Anglo-American academies. These degrees, which are recognised and accepted world-wide, guarantee

  • a high flexibility with the organization of study and professional activity (between the Bachelor study and Master studies, a period of vocational activity can be done if desired; courses of different science disciplines can be combined, which acknowledgment of abroad furnished study achievements or study sections relieved) and
  • better chances on the job market under the conditions of increasing globalization.

The Master of Mechanical Engineering course takes into consideration the fact that the students have first already completed an occupation-qualifying course in Mechanical Engineering or within a similar field. It deepens the knowledge-based methods used in mathematical-scientific, technical and constructional-planning processes and sharpens the mechanical engineering-based profile of the students. To a large extent the students arrange for themselves their study plan from a selection of modules, according to their own interests, personal inclinations, operational requirements or the job market situation.

Application :

Graduates of the Master of Mechanical Engineering course can become active within the ranges of many metal-working and cognate industries, planning and development offices, trade and professional associations, research and teaching fields, supervising authorities, in the public service and last but not least as entrepreneurs. They have application type in higher management, research and development, planning and project engineering, construction and testing, production planning and monitoring, work scheduling and manufacturing, quality assurance, maintenance and service, and in application advice and selling.

Through the individual combination of the modules, students have the possibility of arranging their application profile i.e. one can correspond the needs of the enterprises and arrange them with personal interests of their study. So an example of a possible combination of specialized-specific modules could consist of the following subjects: product development, production engineering, plastics engineering, or of the subjects: quality management, energy engineering, plastics engineering. Similar combination options are selectable also in fundamental modules.

Thus the master study stands out clearly against the more classical studies of mechanical engineering with the conclusion engineering graduate. The master programme with it's new structure and its scientific and practical contents can react to the requirements of the economy substantially better.
