Environmental technology is now a solid component in all planning steps of new production processes. Beyond the classical range of the supply and disposal, integrated environmental protection is becoming increasingly important. In all areas of development innovative solutions, which lead economically to good results and fairly constant rising requirements, are in demand. The use of biologically sustainable resources in industry is becoming essential.
End result: Graduate Engineer (FH) Average period of study: 8 Semesters (1 semester = half year) Study Begins: Winter Semester : 1. September
Employment opportunities: Possible areas of employment are within the equipment construction and design engineering fields, disposal, the processing of waste-materials, the processing industry and energy production within public services as well as monitoring and control authorities.
Basic Study: The foundations of this course include mechanical engineering principles, chemistry, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer as well as manufacturing and process engineering. Also included are ecology, microbiology and biotechnology.
Main Study: Students must select one of the three areas specified below as their primary study area:
1. Waste and recycling technology 2. Process engineering of biogenous raw materials 3. Water technology
In each case selection of individual subjects from different areas is possible and is encouraged.
